Joachim F. W. Schneider, Germany
Joachim F. W. Schneider (b. 1970) graduated from the music academy in
Würzburg in 2000, where he studied composition. He has received many
national and international awards, including the 2003 European Composer’s
Award. His works have been played at many music festivals and by
well-known soloists and orchestras. He has composed for string quartet,
symphony orchestra, choir, the piano, percussion, electric guitar and solo
tuba. In addition to composing and conducting, he has taught at the music
academy in Würzburg since 1998. Schneider’s entry for the II International
Uuno Klami Composition Competition is called Drei Orchesterstücke.
